Rameshan and his friends are cricket crazy and the game was their part of living. Cricket gave him his childhood love Manjula(nikki Galrani). He and his gang Pappan(saiju Kurup), Babukuttan(Sanju), Shaji(Dinesh), Prahladan(Neeraj Madhav), Mantle Johny( Prajod), Basheer, Chandru, Varkey grows up playing all the tournaments and winning many. The parents of Rameshan thought he would become an engineer or doctor but he ends up doing nothing, but palying cricket and a pre degree fail. His Father Gopi Aashan(Joy Mathew) known as the best mechanic in place finally takes him to his shop and asks to continue his legacy. On the other hand, Rameshan looses his childhood love who believed he would find a good carrier and marry him, but he just went with his passion of cricket and concentrating in his love was a bit hard for him. Susheela(Srindha Ashab) becomes his life partner because of the compelling of his family and friends who is by the way the only person in India who does not know about Sachin Tendulkar. As life goes on with a boy to add up the family, Rameshan one day finds his son has passion for cricket. Unlike his father Rameshan now has a dream to make his son a cricket player, and he takes his son to different places and finds out what the cricket was outside his village.

Behind the Scenes:
Abrid Shine with his directional debut sure made a true movie about cricket and showed justice with his script not adding much of any masala.
Cinematography by Pradeesh Varma kept it simple, some beautiful shots of village without much of gimmicks, cricket matches are taken brilliantly.
Editing by Manoj needs a special mention because it gave many nostalgic moments.
Music by Gopi Sundar is classic, especially "Olanjali Kuruvi" will rhyme in your mind for coming days. He sure is the best in business.

About the Cast:
Nivin Pauly as Rameshan was perfect for the role. His looks didn't make it easy to act as aged person, but character was perfect throughout.
Nikki Galrani as Manjula steals your heart with her looks, a special mention to the pretty princess who played her childhood who just has cute smile was lovable to watch.
Srindha Ashab as Susheela the only housewife who don't know Sachin did brilliant with her facial expressions.
jacob Greogory as Mumbai Sachin needs special mention, with all funny oneliners.
Anoop Menon as Vijay Menon did pure justice for his role.
Joe Mathew as Gopi Ashan was perfect for his role.
Saiju Kurup as Pappan,  Sanju as Babukuttan, Dinesh as Shaji, Neeraj Madhav as Prahladan, Prajod as Mantle Johny and all did justice with their roles.

Should You Watch:
In India cricket is a relegion and Sachin as the GOD, the movie "1983" is perfect for any cricket lover to watch and the best dedication for Sachin, we will surely miss him watching the movie. For others, yes this is a simple and elegant movie, best to see with your family. Without any villain the movie is a mind relaxation with beautiful songs and visualisation that gives us nostalgia.
Kudos to the whole crew, and as usual the final decision is yours...!!! :D
