Movie Review: 1 By Two

1 By Two:

1 By Two is a psychic thriller directed by Arun Kumar Aravind.

About the Movie:
The story story revolves round the death of Hari (Murali Gopi) in an accident who is a doctor, who has a twin brother Ravi (Murali Gopi) who tries and fail to suicide and acclaims that he is Hari. Everyone believe Hari is dead expect for Dr.Prema (Honey Rose) his girlfriend who is so sure that its Ravi that is dead, and Hari is still alive. Confusion revolve around. While the pre investigation of accident, the newly deputed CI Yusuf Marikar (Fahad Fazil) takes a look in the accident zone. But when reports comes out, it is written Ravi is the demised person. Yusuf saw this and asks for FIR, and finds out that the whole case is cooked up story by department by the influence of their family. He now starts an investigation by himself, and makes this too much personal. The story slowly takes into the reasons for Yusuf being too attached about this case and the real thing happened in accident.

Behind the Scenes:
Arun Kumar Aravind with his 4th venture again gives us a different movie with different treatment. But this time made it more confusing.
JeyaMohan with the script gave a thriller with lot of suspense in it, but made more confusion in it.
Cinematography by Jomon Thomas was excellent.
Editing by Arun Kumar Aravind was not the best he did, could have made it lot simple.
Music by Gopi Sundar was ok, the one song was pretty good to hear.

About the Cast:
Murali Gopi was at his best and dominated the whole movie as twins. Like his father he has his own style in acting, which outplayed all.
Fahad Fazil as yusuf Marikar did justice to his character, but he looked more confused throughout. His acting skills were not challenged by any means.
Honey Rose as Dr.Prema also looked confused throughout, but she just did what her character asked. Special mention for her confidence to take up this role.
Shyamprasad as Dr.Cheriyan debuted as an actor and did his part excellent, the second best actor in the movie.
Abhinaya as Raziya had nothing much to do, we will doubt what was her need in this, but she always amaze me with her acting within her limitations. she is excellent.
Lot of Casting in the movie, many has nothing to do, which is one failure with casting.

Should You Watch:
With lot of sensual scenes, and confusing story the movie is not appealing though the story was suspense filled. The whole treatment looks failed to attract people and we may need to learn little of psychiatry to understand the whole situation. Movie is about 2 and Half hours which makes it more lagging, it may take your nerves to extent. On the other side, a new style with hats off performance form Murali Gopi which is a treat to watch, and bold Honey Rose and some various mental thoughts of different roles, the movie is different of its kind.
As always final decision is yours :D

Movie Review: PolyTechinic (Pauly Technic)

PolyTechnic (Pauly Technic)

Polytechnic is a Comedy-Family entertainer directed by M.Padmakumar.

About the Movie:
Pauly (Kunjako Boban), Backer (Aju Varghese) are active communist activists who take part in all activities around thier area. One of his agenda is to create trouble for opposing party leader Sukumaran Nair who is the current panchayat president. Since childhood Sukumaran Nair (Vijayaraghavan) gets into trouble because of Pauly. To make things worse Pauly is in love with the daughter of Sukumaran Nair, Ashwathy (Bhavana) since childhood and she too have an affection for him. Pauly comes from a sound family with a loving mother who always tell him to get a job and father an army officer. His life takes a turn when his father dies in a terrorist attack and he has to look after his family. Now with the compensation money of 30 lakhs giving to the family he and his accompanies starts a business which will make money and help people at the same time. From there he gets into lot of trouble because of the govt laws in starting a firm. Story gets interesting from there on.

Behind the Scenes:
M.Padmakumar treated a serious story with help of comedy, has done it without much flaws.
The script by Nishad Koya is simple and fun filled but offered nothing new.
Cinematography by Pramod K Pillai has shot the beautiful village at its best.
Editing by Ranjan Abraham is flawless.
Music by Gopi Sundar was ok with the movie. Songs were not that impressive.

About the Cast:
Kunjako Boban as Pauly has again given a decent performance. The role suited him, but somewhere the macho look tries didn't suit him.
Aju Varghese as Backer, the sidekick delivered many one liners, but this time with no filthy ones, thanks to script writer.
Hareesh Peradi as party secretary did good and amuses us as always.
Vijayaraghavan as Sukumar Nair was spot on with the character.
Bhavana as Ashwathy had nothing to do much but did her role well.

Should You Watch:
M.Padmakumar this time tried to narrate the story with a comedy approach seems to be worked. A simple movie with a script that had nothing new expect for the new one liner jokes keeps it interesting. I felt the movie like a new style Midhunam because it has so much of similarities. Even though the movie gives a good message in the end with some surprise climax, the movie lacked entertainment and goes in a half dull mood. A good family watch with less entertainment.
As always final decision is yours :D

Movie Review: Ring Master

Ring Master:

Ring Master directed by Raffi is a comedy genre movie.

About the Movie:
Prince (dileep) is a dog trainer who dreams going to abroad. His friend, a vet Dr.Muthu (Kalabhavan Shajon) comes with an idea to look after some dogs in a NRI family house, where the owners (Sai Kumar, Ranjini) are going abroad. He lives there as house keeper cum dog trainer meets up with many funny incidents and one of it leads to a blind neighbour girl Karthika (Keerthi Suresh), her parents have died and she needs help of her trained pet for anything and everything. One day her dog gets abducted and she gets totally lost. On the time being Prince and Karthika became friends and he offers her a helping hand. Prince has a childhood sweetheart Diana (Honey Rose) who is now a leading actress in the industry. Now by some events his dog Diana (named after his childhood sweetheart) gets a chance to act in a film. From there his luck changes. The movie goes on with lots of fun and entertainment till the end.

Behind the Scenes:
Raffi from the Rafi-Mecartin duo comes back with a fun filled script which has all masalas for a perfect entertainer.
Cinematography by Shaji captured many colourful scenes and has life till the end.
Editing by Shyam is apt for a entertainer, its a colourful journey.
Music by Gopi Sundar is good and two songs in the movie definitely attracts all sort of people especially children.

About the Cast:
Dileep  is a versatile actor. He know what is his capability and he takes full advantage of himself. He just creates laughing riot throughout as Prince.
Honey Rose as Diana did her best performance so far, was excellent in her role.
Keerthi Suresh as Karthika who once acted with dileep in Kuberan as child artist did brilliant as blind and her cuteness does the trick.
Kalabhavan Shajon as Dr.Muthu is a sidekick who continue to make us laugh.
Suraj Venjaramudu as Sharavan also delivers many oneliners, had nothing new to offer.
Aju Varghese as Peter didn't had much to do. but played his role well.
There are many casts in the movie which had nothing much to do, but none did it bad.

Should You Watch:
This Holiday season if you want to Laugh and get stress free with your friends and family, definitely Ring Master is the right choice. No much of logic, got all masala's to get entertained, and kids will definitely love the movie which has too much cuteness overload of Dog's. To people who are serious about the story side and logic side, you may want to think twice before going. Anyway Raffi has shown that even now humour has not ended, if done in the right way. Kudos to whole crew. A perfect holiday entertainer.
As always, final decision is yours :D

Movie Review: 7th Day

7th Day:

7th Day is a Suspense thriller genre by debutant Syam Dhar.

About the Movie:
David Abraham IPS (Prithviraj), a suspended officer from Crime Branch is unlocking an unregistered case he comes across in a christmas eve, and gets resolved in the 7th day ie New year's eve. On a small accident with a bike, David comes across two friends Shan (Vinay Forrt) and Vinu (Anu Mohan) whom seemed to be pretty tensed about something. Vinu gets injured and David takes them to hospital and from there Vinu disappears, and never finds him searching the whole area. David gets some doubts about them and next day comes in search of this only to find Vinu suicides on the same night and Shan gets attacked by some strangers. David find out from Shan and his four friends Cycle (Praveen Prem). Eby (Tovino Thomas), Jessy (Jannani Iyer) are in deep trouble with some money issues and promises to help them and starts investigating about the case unofficially. The case gets interesting as there is no clues or findings in front of David. From there movie reveals the story step by step and the mysteries behind the Gang.

Behind the Scenes:
Shyam Dhar with his directional debut has made it perfect.
Story by Akhil Paul is excellent and a great suspense thriller.
Cinematography by Sujith Vassudev was apt for the thriller genre and has many visual treats.
Editing by John Kutty gave a dark mood, although was good.
Music by Deepak Dev was excellent although there was one song it is a good blend to movie.

About the Cast:
Prithviraj as David Abraham, was just outstanding with his Salt n Pepper looks. The role didn't use much of his acting skills, but it was his stardom which was perfectly picturised with his brilliant narration skill.
Vinay Forrt as Shan was brilliant among the 5 friends, did brilliant.
Anu Mohan as Vinu is sure a new talent to industry.
Praveen Prem as Cycle surprises us with his different role playing that differ from his looks was good.
Tovino Thomas as Eby had a rough look was good to watch.
Jannani Iyer as Jessy did play her role good.
All other casting were good and played their part well. No performance were bad.

Should You Watch:
The movie without an Official trailer, with Prithviraj quoting "On many different counts, I don't think there has been another movie in my career with which i have been involved with so many different levels like this one.." gave a interesting preview and I was eager to watch this on the first day was indeed a good decision. On of the best thrillers this year till date, with Prithviraj at his best and a suspense story line till the very end without much lag element used except for a small scene towards end, the whole crew did well in the making of 7th Day. Its definitely a watchable one for all movie lovers.
As always the final decision is yours :D
